Welcome to our Dayglad “Virus” removal guide. The following instructions will aid you in removing the unwanted software from your PC.

In today’s article, we will be talking about a newly released program called Dayglad “Virus”. Due to some of its traits, we consider Dayglad “Virus” to be a piece of software that falls under the category of Browser Hijackers –  a type software that is generally seen as unwanted and sometimes potentially threatening.

Normally, a Browser Hijacker program should not be something to be overly concerned about. Nevertheless, applications that fall under the Hijacker category can be quite annoying and frustrating to have on your computer. The most notable issues that one can experience with a program of this type are unwanted changes to the browser settings like a replaced homepage or changed search engine. Another particularly unpleasant Browser Hijacker trait is that it could cause your Firefox, Chrome, IE or Edge browser to experience frequent page redirects. On top of that, sometimes the page that the user gets redirected to could be potentially hazardous. With all of that being said, we believe that it is generally better to uninstall a Browser Hijacker as soon as its presence is noticed so as to prevent it from messing with the browser and the Internet settings. We have the uninstallation and removal part covered below, within our Dayglad “Virus” removal guide which you can use if you have the unwanted program on your PC. However, we strongly advise all of our readers to first read through the main part of the article so as to acquaint themselves with the most important characteristics of Dayglad “Virus” and Browser Hijackers in general.

How threatening are these programs?

Browser Hijackers are not viruses and they are usually incapable of causing any direct harm to your PC. A typical Hijacker such as Dayglad “Virus” would generally be used as a marketing tool. All the changes that these programs do to one’s browser are normally done with the purpose of advertising something, for example a website, some form of online service or some other piece of software created by the same developer or by a third-party company. If we are to compare this to an actual virus such as Ransomware or a Trojan horse, it’s quite obvious that there is a significant difference between the two types of software. After all, real malware like the ones that we mentioned are all about harming one’s computer system, spying on their victims or messing with the user’s personal files. None of those are typical for Hijackers.

Be cautious around Dayglad “Virus”!

Dayglad “Virus” might not be some nasty Ransomware or noxious Trojan horse, but it is also probably not something you’d want to have on your computer. Browser Hijackers are not viruses, yet they can still cause a number of problems and have quite a few negative effects on your system. We advise you to treat programs of this type with caution and remove them as soon as possible should they get inside your system.

  • An infamous Browser Hijacker trait is that programs of this type oftentimes try to mess with the computer’s Registry by adding new registry keys or making modifications to already existing ones. Depending on how heavy the alterations are, this could potentially lead to making the PC more vulnerable to hacker attacks. Reverting those changes after removing the Hijacker is mandatory – instructions on how to do it can be found within the removal guide.
  • Some Hijackers are known to fill the user’s browsers with all sorts of obnoxious and obstructive ads, banners, pop-ups, etc. Those are not only annoying but could also be potential security risks. Interacting with such advertising materials is inadvisable and should be avoided.
  • It is not impossible that a Browser Hijacker can also affect the performance of one’s computer. Obviously, just as any other program, Dayglad “Virus” too requires system resources such as RAM and CPU in order to function. However, if your machine is not very powerful, the resources used by the Hijacker might lead to a productivity slow-down.

Protection against Browser Hijackers

We know how annoying it is to have Dayglad “Virus” or some similar program on your computer. That is why we believe it is much better to simply keep such applications at bay instead of having to go through the process of removing them afterwards. Here is what you’d need to do in order to ensure that no more Hijackers get installed onto your computer:

  • Obviously, you should first and foremost be careful with what you do when you are browsing the Internet. Be careful with the sites that you visit and if anything about a certain webpage seems shady, you should probably leave the said page.
  • Since Hijackers are oftentimes spread through online spam such as junk mail and Facebook/Skype messages, you should be careful with these too. Do not trust any shady links and file attachments that are sent to you unless you know that they are safe.
  • Make sure that your OS and internet settings are providing your system with enough security. For example, it is highly inadvisable to turn off your system’s firewall. Additionally, you should always have a reliable anti-malware program on your machine to add an additional layer of protection to it.
  • Lastly, be careful with what you are installing onto your computer. If you are about to install a new program, take a look at the setup menu and see if there are any bundled applications. If there is anything added, look up the application and see what you can find about it. Usually, if it is something potentially unwanted, you should be able to easily determine that through a quick Google search. In case there are bundled installs that are indeed suspicious and undesirable, all you’d need to do is to uncheck them prior to launching the installation and they won’t get installed onto your PC.
