Also, you will get a few helpful tips on how to avoid such ads-generating programs in the future, so you should really take a close look at the information below.

Youndoo “Virus” – Software developed to display ads

Interrupting your browsing activity with disturbing messages, banners, links, page redirects and pop-ups every time you browse the web is a common activity, related to browser hijackers. These pieces of software are specially developed to generate all sorts of advertisements and display dozens of them, often without an option to stop or close them. You have probably experienced it on your own screen the moment you got Youndoo “Virus” on your PC. But even though they could bring a great amount of irritation, this type of programs are actually considered legitimate software. How come?

The truth behind browser hijackers

The truth behind browser hijackers is that they are tools developed to serve the needs of the online advertising industry – they collect clicks and bring traffic to the advertised pages through page redirects and aggressive ads displaying. In fact, the marketers often pay for that service (a method called Pay-Per-Click) to the software developers, who develop browser hijacker types of applications. In general, every time users click on some of the intrusive pop-ups, banners, and pages, an income is generated for the developers; that’s why they try to display as many ads as possible and often overdo it with the intrusiveness. Another thing developers do is they usually include such pieces of software in program bundles and distribute them with some free applications, spam emails, direct downloads or open source download platforms. When users download and install such bundles, they usually make a common mistake that lets all the additional applications such as Youndoo “Virus” get installed on the computer as well. What they do is, they normally proceed with the standard setup and install everything in the bundle as it is, including the browser hijacker that is potentially unwanted. Many people don’t know that to avoid installing the standard bundle, they should click on the advanced/custom settings in the setup and manually unselect the programs they don’t want. This simple step takes no more than a minute but can save them from the ads invasion later.

The risks related to browser hijackers

When a program like Youndoo “Virus” operates on your PC, there really isn’t much to worry about. This is neither a virus nor a malware infection like a Trojan or Ransomware and can really not be compared with the threats of this magnitude. Even though many people may wrongly refer to browser hijackers as malicious threats, there are some major differences that should be taken into account. Programs like Youndoo “Virus” cannot replicate like viruses can, nor can they corrupt your system or encrypt your files like the Ransomware.

But even though they do not represent a direct threat to your computer, there are still some indirect risks that such programs may eventually expose you to. Some hazards may be involved with the ads generating activity and the page redirects, where you may click on a misleading ad or land on an insecure web page and eventually get some malware. This still could be a minimal risk, because such things don’t happen that often. But as minimal as it is, such scenario is possible, therefore it is a good idea to avoid clicking on the ads and interacting with such sketchy content in general. But if you want to ensure your system’s safety you should consider installing reputable anti-malware software that would keep it constantly protected.

You close one ad, ten more appear… how to put an end to that?

The intrusive nature of Youndoo “Virus” may really prevent you from closing the ads, that’s why your attempts to remove them from your screen may lead to even more ads in return. The only effective solution that would really save you from the nagging pop-ups, banners and boxes is if you completely remove the browser hijacker from your system. The guide below contains all the needed steps to do that. Just follow closely the instructions and you will be good to go.
