Malala: A Peaceful Voice for Education

Oct 12th, 2013Education, International

Malala Yousafzi was shot by the Taliban for wanting to go to school. At the Mashable Social Good Summit, she is joined by her father, Zia, the CEO of the Malala Fund, Shiza Shahid, and Elizabeth Gore, resident entrepreneur at the UN Foundation. Malala shares how she has grown since her attack in Pakistan, and how worldwide support has fuelled her dedication to fight for girls’ education and women’s empowerment. “When I see the support and the love of people, I forget about the incident,” she says. “I think that I am the most lucky girl.”

Zia is my hero and Malala’s story is so inspirational. The only thing that happened when Malala was shot was that “weakness fear and hopelessness died.” WOW!! So powerful. My heart is for providing education in other countries and this video has really touched me. That fact that Malala could forgive the people who did such a horrid thing to her is such a good example.

    Thank you for this post!
